PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Tydra (ABN 73 670 934 013) (we, us or our) collects through tydra.com, why we collect it, who we share it with and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
This summary does not replace the full policy below.
1.1 Information you give us. We collect the details you enter into our forms:
(a) Join the waitlist and Reserve your Tydra: your name, email address, phone number (optional, waitlist only), postcode, how you plan to use a Tydra, whether you already own a boat, how you would like to launch, and what attracted you to Tydra.
(b) Reservation payments: when you pay the $99 Reservation Fee, Stripe collects your card details and billing information. We receive your name, email address, the amount paid and a payment reference, but not your full card number.
(c) Contact form: your name, email address, phone number (if you give it) and your message.
(d) Careers applications: your name, email address, phone number, your CV or resume, whether you have the right to work in Australia, and the role you are applying for.
(e) Emails: anything you send to info@tydra.com.
1.2 Information collected automatically. When you visit tydra.com, our analytics and advertising tools collect information about your visit, such as the pages you view, how long you stay, the website that referred you, your device and browser type, and your approximate location (city or region, worked out from your IP address).
1.3 Sensitive information. We don't ask for sensitive information (such as health information or racial or ethnic origin). Please don't include it in a form, message or CV.
2.1 Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Tracking pixels are small pieces of code on a web page that send information about your visit to the company that provides them. We use three kinds:
(a) Necessary: these keep the site working and remember your cookie choices. They can't be switched off. Our consent cookie (cc_cookie) lasts 182 days.
(b) Analytics: Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity, both loaded through Google Tag Manager. Google Analytics sets cookies starting with _ga, which can last up to two years, so we can see how many people visit, which pages they use and where they came from. Clarity records how visitors move through our pages (clicks, taps, scrolling and mouse movement) as replays and heatmaps, so we can find and fix pages that are hard to use. It never captures what you type into form fields. It sets cookies named _clck, which lasts up to one year, and _clsk, which lasts one day. Clarity can also set cookies on Microsoft's own domains (such as CLID and MUID), which Microsoft controls under its own privacy policy.
(c) Marketing: the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, the owner of Facebook and Instagram). It sends Meta information about the pages you visit on tydra.com and the actions you take, such as joining the waitlist or paying the Reservation Fee (including the amount). When you submit a form, it also sends a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email address, name and phone number, which Meta uses to match your visit to a Facebook or Instagram account. Meta does not receive the rest of what you type, or your card details. We use this to show Tydra ads to people who have visited and to measure whether our ads work. It sets cookies named _fbp and _fbc, which last up to 90 days. If we add Google Ads, it will sit in this category too and set cookies starting with _gcl.
2.2 Your choices. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept or reject analytics and marketing cookies, or choose for each category. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page. If you reject a category, we stop those tools from setting cookies and delete the ones they have already set. Visitors from the European Union, the United Kingdom and Switzerland start with analytics and marketing switched off until they accept.
2.3 Ad settings elsewhere. You can also control the ads you see on Facebook and Instagram in your Meta account's ad preferences, and opt out of Google Analytics on every site by installing Google's opt-out browser add-on.
3.1 We use your information to:
(a) answer your questions and messages;
(b) keep you updated about Tydra, the waitlist and the launch, where you have agreed to hear from us;
(c) process your reservation, Reservation Fee and any refund, and manage your place in the reservation queue;
(d) assess your job application and contact you about it;
(e) understand how people use tydra.com and improve it;
(f) show Tydra ads to people who have visited our site and measure how those ads perform; and
(g) meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
3.2 Marketing emails. We only send launch news and updates to people who have asked for them, for example by ticking the consent box on the waitlist form. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link, or you can email info@tydra.com to stop them. We will still contact you about an active reservation or job application.
4.1 We share personal information with service providers that help us run the site and the business, and only for that purpose:
(a) Webflow, which hosts tydra.com and stores our form submissions;
(b) Stripe, which processes Reservation Fee payments and refunds;
(c) Google, which provides Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Gmail, our email service, which holds the emails you send us and the form notifications we receive;
(d) Meta, which provides the Meta Pixel and our Facebook and Instagram advertising; and
(e) Microsoft, which provides Microsoft Clarity.
4.2 These providers handle information under their own privacy policies, which you can read on their websites.
4.3 We may also disclose personal information where the law requires or allows it, for example to a government agency or a court.
4.4 We don't sell your personal information or share it with other businesses for their own marketing.
5.1 Webflow, Stripe, Google, Meta and Microsoft store and process data outside Australia, mainly in the United States and Europe. By using tydra.com and our forms, you acknowledge that your information may be stored and processed in those countries. We use well-known providers that have their own security and privacy programs.
6.1 We keep personal information only as long as we need it:
(a) waitlist details: while you are on the waitlist, and removed within 30 days of you asking to come off it;
(b) reservations and payments: for at least five years after the transaction, as Australian tax law requires;
(c) contact form messages: up to 12 months after our last contact with you, unless you become a customer;
(d) job applications: up to 12 months after the role is filled, so we can contact you about future roles, unless you ask us to delete it sooner;
(e) Google Analytics data: 2 months, after which Google deletes it; and
(f) Microsoft Clarity data: replays for 30 days, and click and heatmap data for 9 months. Replays we save, and a small random sample Microsoft keeps, last up to 9 months.
7.1 We take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. The site runs over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, card payments are handled by Stripe, and only Tydra team members who need your information can access it.
7.2 If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires. To report a security concern, email info@tydra.com with "Privacy security incident" in the subject line.
8.1 You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@tydra.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We will reply within 30 days.
8.2 We may need to confirm your identity before we act on a request. If we can't do what you ask (for example, we must keep payment records for tax purposes), we will tell you why.
9.1 If you have a concern about how we have handled your information, email info@tydra.com with "Privacy complaint" in the subject line. We will look into it and reply within 30 days.
9.2 If you are not happy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
10.1 tydra.com is aimed at adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you think a child has given us their details, contact us and we will delete them.
11.1 We may update this policy as our tools, services or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. If we make a significant change, we will update this page before the change takes effect.
12.1 For any privacy question or request, email info@tydra.com.
